Repository channels

Channel Glaber version URL Purpose

Versioned paths /repo/3.6/... and /repo/3.4/... are aliases of the same trees as latest and stable.

Note

Instructions below use the latest channel (3.6).

For the 3.4 line, replace latest with stable in the URL (or 3.6 with 3.4).

The live list is always on the repository page. For latest (3.6) at the time of this documentation update:

The stable (3.4) channel also publishes Debian 10 and Ubuntu 18.04; latest (3.6) does not.

Adding the GPG key (DEB)

apt-key is deprecated and may be unavailable on Debian 13 / Ubuntu 24. Use a keyring with signed-by:

Newer OS packages vs legacy builds

Packages are built per distribution major. Do not install a .deb / .rpm built for a different OS or major version.

Debian 13 and Ubuntu 24.04 vs older DEB

Debian 13 (Trixie) and Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble) use the time64 (t64) ABI. Glaber packages for those releases depend on t64-suffixed libraries, for example:

  • libcurl4t64, libssl3t64, libsnmp40t64
  • libopenipmi0t64, libevent-2.1-7t64, libevent-pthreads-2.1-7t64
  • libldap2 (instead of libldap-2.5-0 on Debian 12 / Ubuntu 22)

The minimum libc6 requirement is also higher (>= 2.38 for these builds).

On Debian 11/12 and Ubuntu 20/22, dependencies use the classic names (libcurl4, libssl3, libsnmp40, …).

Practical consequences:

  • a package tagged -debian-13 will not install on Debian 12, and vice versa;
  • the same applies to -ubuntu-24 vs -ubuntu-22;
  • on Debian 13 / Ubuntu 24, configure apt trust with a keyring + signed-by, not apt-key.

The distribution is encoded in the package filename, for example:

RPM: EL10 and peers

Builds for AlmaLinux 10 / Oracle Linux 10 (and similar) carry a suffix such as .el10 and are not compatible with el8/el9. RED OS 7 and 8 are separate trees (redos-7, redos-8).

Package naming and contents

Package names use the glaber prefix instead of zabbix, for example:

Executable and unit names often still match Zabbix (zabbix_server, zabbix-server.service, and so on). Remove conflicting zabbix-* packages before installing Glaber.

Server, proxy, classic agent, frontend, nginx/apache config packages, Java gateway.

Extras: Glaber Agent 2, workers, agent2 plugins, glbmap, glaber-graph, Astra net-snmp builds, Windows agent, and more — see https://glaber.io/repo/common.

Zabbix agents remain protocol-compatible with Glaber; for a stock install prefer glaber-agent / glaber-agent2 from the Glaber repository.

Debian / Ubuntu / Astra
